I assume no leaks of course :)
Now time to move that thing into the house:hammer:

Nothing major, I had a couple little pin hole leaks on the manifold, unions really come in handy already. I know Im just trying to get the wood finished up and it will be ready. Here is how its coming along.

Nice job on the stain man it looks very clean:)
In my experience I always had some kinda small leak when using pvc couplers, but a roll of Teflon tape later and problem solved.

Thanks man. I never get through a plumbing job without atleast one leak :headwally:. Its always rush rush.

Looks like the tank is moving along nicely. I really like they way you mounted the returns. Out of curiosity how much gph are you going to have running through them?

Thanks man. The water blaster HY-5000 is 1300 gph but I dont know how much Im loosing along the way. I may go a little bigger on the return pump eventually but Im happy with it for now. The tank is pretty much ready to move in the house but I'm gonna take my little monsters to Disneyland/Sea World this weekend so Im gonna wait till I get back. Im told we have to meet all the princesses before we can come home.:D

Well, the tank will be going up this week and while Im excited I'm kinda bummed. I just got back from vacation and found Monti Eating Nudi's in my tank. They must have been in there a while cause I havent added anything cause I knew I would be moving everything. They are eating my caps and encrusting monti's along with my Pagoda and Turbinaria which Ive had for like a decade. The caps dont bother me so much cause they grow so fast but the Pagoda is gonna sting a little. Im not sure what Im gonna do at this point but whatever I do will happen during the swap when its easiest. Im not gonna add any new corals until I get a fully fuctioning QT set up. Anybody has any tips for me, Im all ears.

Hey Brett,
There is always something!!! Anyway, my best advice here would be to continue as you are. Quarantine where you can... dip as much as you need and inspect everything closely as you move everything from your old system to the new. If something looks like you can't save it. Don't take the chance with it. Discard it!

Nothing will stop this great build from proceeding Bro. You have taken your time and put alot of thought into it so, trust your instincts and proceed. As I stated in the beginning of my reply... There will always be something that we are dealing with in this hobby.. the importance of dipping and quaratine is monumental now to the overal health of our systems. I remember when I first got into the hobby. I never dipped anything and never ran into any of the problems we have today with the exception of redbugs. Now, I am a believer. Good Luck Bro! We're riding with you!

hey Brett....excellent progress bro....

I am sure you will love em wavy seas they help the water circulate creating a very natural sweeping effect and corals look amazing swaying in those currents.

The stand is coming up beautiful too....are ya using some kind of water proof painting on it? If not do consider it ...as splashes can damage the whole thing.

The plumbing is looking great too ...great planning there...

Waiting to see ya tank up and running with saltwater...keep updating bro.

Have you got your rock already? Whats your plan...you gonna start with cured live rock?

Keep us posted :)

Just a question....will dipping corals in Two Littles Fishies "REVIVE" rid them off pests aka Red bugs and the Flat worms?

anybody with experience using REVIVE?

Which is a better among the following?

1. Fresh water dip
or
2. Coral Rx dip
or
3.Revive dip

thanks

Thanks Jonathan. Ive always dipped everything and wanted to set up a QT but its just a matter of finding the space to put all these tanks. In a perfect world I would love to have a room dedicated to my tank but its just not gonna happen right now. Some how I will set up a small QT and be very careful about what I add for now on but in a 10 gallon QT I find it hard to believe Im not gonna lose more frags than I do now but atleast the Display will be safer. We will both get through these pest issues and be stronger for it but its surely not gonna be easy. All we can do is push forward and keep sharing info, someone is sure to find the way to beat these things sooner or later. Thanks again for the the reply man.

Hey buddy, Thanks for all the nice complements, I'm getting really close now. The rock is all moving over from my current system. I hope to have some big updates by the end of this weekend. The stand is a black stain with about 3 coats of Lacquer on top. I tried out the wavy seas during the water test and really love them along with the 6105 on the wave controller. Ive only ever had korralia's in my tank so all this new stuff is very exciting for me. Stay tuned.

I use Revive and it does a good job but with out QT your taking the chance of eggs being present. The best advice I can give is to QT first and not to add anybody elses rock or plugs to your display. You seem like a pretty patient and well planned guy, you should be able to avoid the mistakes most of us have made. Just be careful with everything that goes in your display. Thanks for the replys, they're always appreciated.

Alright, enough talking about pests:hammer:, regardless of the set backs I'm moving forward. With that said, look what came in the house today.

Im really happy with how the stand came out. Im also pretty excited about the height difference now that I have it sitting in front of the 125. Im going nuts with it sitting in the house and not working on it.:crazy1:Hurry up weekend!!!

Been looking at your build. Very nice, love how your stand come out and how it goes well with the tank.
