I'm looking into getting some Aquaray Aquabeam 2000 & 1500 and would like to have some feedback from owners of this LEDs. I know that the member Bryopsis got some, right?
Anyway, I really appreciate the comments.
I have had a mixture of 2000s and 1500s (7 tiles all up) running since March 2015. They are controlled by a Profilux 3.1 which just slaves the Aquabeam controllers to provide the PWM. No leds lost so far and quite able to grow Acropora 5cm off the bottom of the tank (500L). Colour is very close to what I was getting from my MH before the switch.
The controllers are not really very good when used as controllers on their own as I found them to be very susceptible to electrical interference which would cause them to reset their clocks so they would come on at all sorts of times. Slaved to the Profilux they have not put a foot wrong.
I have not had any PSU problems but it needs to be noted that I am in NZ and we run 240V which means totally different power supplies than what are likely to be supplied in the US, where I have heard there were PSU failure issues.
