Aquarium brush

Can someone please recommend a good aquarium brush/sponge that can be used to get algae off the glass (I have a magnetic scraper that does an ok job) and clean the intake slits to the first chamber in my wet/dry area.

A magnetic scraper should do a great job.
PADS and that stuff are hard to use and make a mess.

I hear you. I mainly want it to clean the inside and outside grills leading to the first chamber in my wet/dry area. The column is not really wide enough for me the get my hand down there in order to clean it. I need something on a stick to scrub it.

I used to use an extra firm toothbrush for the overflow grills on my tank and sump. Worked great and still have it for a back up. Now I generally use my battle brush from Battle Corals. You used to be able to order them themselves I thought but couldn’t find them on a quick search. But the extra firm toothbrush works great
