Aquarium cleaning company stole gem tang :O

I had a person from our cleaning crew in my old office steal my maroon gold stripe clown out of my work tank and walk out with it in a coffee cup...

Security "Nanny Cam" caught it all. fish didn't make it :(

Hope this guys story ends better. huge difference between cost obviously, but the principal matters

Thats a +1 for my moral of the story

There are two GEM tangs for sale on reef to reef !!! One guy is in Sacramento

Since this forum is viewed by a lot of reefer , maybe , you could name the cleaning company in this thread and wait and see if other customer of the same cleaning company has the same issue as you , of having missing fishes and or other livestock .

Secondly , as what others have suggested , you need to get a few security camera at multiple angle viewpoint , to capture the deed happening , in order to bring the proof to court , easily , without needing to inform the public of your initial plan , which some has pointed out that the perpertrator might still be reading this and circumvent your move , which might make you look like an idiot when you brought the authorities to them , failing with , losing your credibility infront of said perpertrator and also the authorities , which make them gleefully happy as you leave their establishment with your tail between your leg .

I am on your side , I pity you and am saddened that this happened to you , as a fellow hobbyist , I cant fanthom any reason why this should happen but it happened , but YOU need to wise up and be above this situation , knowing that you will be keeping expensive livestock , you also need to prepare , in advance , measure to keep them safe , IN YOUR HOME , so that you could enjoy viewing them , after work or whatever it is you are doing to bring the dough back home for you and your family ,as a means to earn a living , in this journey we call LIFE .

So I say , do not fret over spilled milk , pull yourself together and calm down , learn from this situation and device a way to keep this from happening again , plan for a system and add in redundency to your planned system , record keeping is important the way I see it so take pre emptive measure to have all images of your tank and livestock stored somewhere safe , where you can have access to it , only known to you , as a measure that if and when something similar happened , you'll have all the evidence in your hand , which might make it easy for the justice system to err on your side , making it easier on you and presenting your image as a clean hobbyist in the eyes of the law as well as your fellow hobbyist .

Even though bad things happened to you , you do not need to stoop down to the level of the person to do bad things to them as a form of revenge , you could but that could change you as a person and it is easy to do it but in the future , the unintended consequence might happened to your love ones and you might feel sorry and even regret that you realised you changed as a person because of this incident so take the higher road and learnt from this incident and do something better to overcome this , easier said than done but the end result might be even more satisfying .

Hope this helps !

Yeah this did not happen to me, I just met a guy at my lfs that told me the story. Well actually I was talking to the lfs owner about expensive fish and how I am scared to have them and the guy came in and told us the story.
