Aquarium Light Reflector Question..

Anyone know where I can pick up light reflector material/sheets? I need big sheets that I can bend into… to make a custom reflector backing for my 92 bowfront corner hood.. that I recently built

I checked local hardware stores and the closest thing I could find for what I need… is aluminum(shiny) duct material. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

You dont mention what kind of lights you are using but I'd encourage you to look at reefgeek or aquactinics to get specific reflectors. You can waste alot of the energy from your light(s) by going a cheaper route and or improper design for your reflector(s).

I'm doing a combo of a 175 wat metal halide in the center and two 65W PC to boath sides of it..and maybe one in the front parallel to the bowfront. Since the corner bowfront has a pie shape and most of my rocks are stalked up to the back corner, i figured that mounting these lights from the back, pointing toward the front of the aquarium(not parrallel to the front) would be the best way to go.

My current setup is a 96w PC, 175w MH, and 65w PC sitting parallel to the bowfront and and arranged in that order from the front to back corner..

Spectral Aluminum sheets are available from http://www.aquatictech.com/lighting.html. Scroll down to the bottom to see the list of standard-sized sheets.

Aquatic Technology can cut them to your specifications or fabricate a reflector for you.

Good luck!
