Aquarium Silicone in a caulk gun

Can i buy anywhere a BIG tube of silicone or only the small tubes
i am resealing that 125

Use GE Silicone 1. DO NOT use the GE Silicone 2 though, as it contains mildecides that will poison the fish. Also, Rod's Reef sells tubes of All Glass Aquarium brand silicone in full size tubes.

I always use ge silicone 2 Its avail at ace hardware but make sure that it is the one that is Not mildew resistent they have 2 types

GE II is only ok if you use Door and Window and it must not have the BIO-SEAL logo on it. You can find some homedepots with the old batch.

if you can find the DAP brand, the label reads that its safe for food contact, and if iits safe for food..... Its usually OK for our tanks... I do prefer the all-glass silicone and many of the LFSs will have that on hand. I believe that I have seen it at Petco

I see the DAP brand door and window not mildew resistand in a blue and white tube

also see GE brand door and window and the back reads Silicon 1

Silicone 1 worked well for me, I've resealed 2 tanks with it and haven't had any leaks. But I've never tried the DAP stuff, so I don't have an opinion on that one.

here is a question
the bottom silicone was ok it was all the side corners that needed new
so i cut it out on all 4 corners and the top should that be ok and just get it in there good where it meets the bottom or does it all have to come out??

Well, the new silicone will have to meet up with the old silicone, and silicone doesn't adhere very well to silicone. I would suck-it-up and just reseal the entire tank. It won't take that much more effort and time. Better safe than sorry!

You may be alright by following your original plan, but I don't think that it'd be worth taking that risk (just my opinion). I would hate to see you go through the trouble of resealing a tank and then hear that you ended up having a leak.

i took it all out what about that tiny tiny gap between all the sheets of glass kind ahard getting between there

No, I wouldn't mess with that, b/c then you will be disassembling the tank.

Make sure to use a razorblade and clean the old silicone off of the glass. There's usually a very thin layer that is on there and requires a bit of scraping.

well i got it out of the little gaps in the 4 corners but not on the bottom where it meets the walls
it wont fall aprat thought cause of the trim
