Safest way to remove it? need to move the baffles in the sump for the new build.

When I resealed my 90 I just used a (actually multiple) sharp razor blades along the edges. Once I was able to scrape it off with the blades I went over it with de-natured alcohol. That will clean the glass completely of any residue. Just requires a little elbow grease and time. Hope this helps with your endevaour!
