Aquarium Stand

Hi, I really hope you guys can help,

I bought this aquarium stand from a fish store, it measures 120 cm**40cm*70 cm OR 47'' x 15.7'' x 27.5'' (l*w*h)

I want to put a 120*40*55 aquarium on top of it (full glass no rim) it would be around 300 kg/660 pounds full.

The question is, although the stand is exactly the size of the aquarium, will it hold? because the support on the sides is just a board right in the middle it does not support the 4 corners, on the other hand I bought it on a fish store =S .

I'm asking for help because I can't get a hold of the fish store and because I dont want 240 liters/ 60 gallons of water on my house.....outside of the aquarium/bathtub that is....

(I apologise for my rusty english)

I would say if it's designed for that purpose and it was made for an aquarium of the size of yours, then you should be perfectly fine to use it. But yes if it makes you feel better I'd wait until you can get in touch with the store on it. If it were me, and I wanted that stand for my tank I'd buy it.

Is there room in the bottom for a sump?

:lmao: your "rusty" English is better than some that were raised with English as their native language :lmao:

Hi Dkuhlmann, thank you for your quick reply.

Thank you for the compliment on my english =P.

Regarding the sump... maybe not, because the compartment is divided in 4 each measuring 30cmx40cm 11'x15' lxh. It's divided probably for structural support, so it would have to be a pretty small sump (round 10 gallons), I don't think its possible.

I was considering a canister filter (something arroung 1000l/h) and probably a uv sterilization lamp if the water gets cloudy, I know those would fit.

Regarding the tank I was considering using a 120x40x50cm 48x15.7x20inches.

I wanted a rimless aquarium. What thickness of glass should I use? I intend to have it professionally made, but I want to guarantee that I have it has safe as possible.
