what are aquarium tongs, and if they are what they sound like, where do i find them?

oh, and sidequestion, why do only the things at the bottom get knocked over/around?

thanks,

tim

The aquarium tongs I have look alot like those long pinchy things people with back problems use to pick things up off the floor. I ordered from bigalsonline.com. They have different lengths. As for your side question, when you discover the answer to that I'd like to know as well.

Yeah or if you have a 5 1/2 high tall tank and you don't feel like getting a small step ladder to get one of your corals-

Any body know where you can get a good pair. The el cheapo kind tend to break pretty often "I have broken both ends on mine"

I have a few aquarium tongs and tweezers. Tongs are bit awkward to use, and my 12" stainless steel tweezers still rust unless I wash salt off of it.

I am beginning to like my long aquarium gloves that come up to my shoulder very much. The only bad thing about it is that it is a bit too thick and I cannot really feel what I am touching very well. However, it kept me from getting stung by fire worms/bristleworms. I need to check out a farm supply store for a few pairs of long disposable veterinarian's gloves.

Tim, to answer one of your questions, I find that whenever anything gets knocked over in my tank, the culprits are usually my hermit crabs and sometimes snails as well. I have a cleaner shrimp that jumps all over everything but I find that he is very gentle and has never disrupted anything. I use some SS forceps and tweezers that were left over from a clinic.
