I have had problems with sps, mainly acropora and wanted to make sure my test kits are not off and that certain levels of usually untested parameters were in check.

Here is my results.

Water Test Summary
Ammonia (NH3-4) 0.003 Good
Nitrite (NO2) 0.006 Good
Nitrate (NO3) 1.2 Good
Phosphate (PO4) 0.02 Good
Silica (SiO2-3) 2.1 High
Potassium (K) 431 Good
Calcium (Ca) 388 Good
Boron (B) 3.5 Good
Molybdenum (Mo) 0.1 Good
Strontium (Sr) 10.5 Good
Magnesium (Mg) 1363 Good
Iodine (I¯) 0.02 Low
Copper (Cu++) 0.01 Good
Alkalinity (meq/L) 3.24 Good

The only thing that is off by alot is the silica and iodine. I plan on getting a silica filter for my ro/di unit. I don't know what I will do with iodine, may add a few drops of lugols.

They have weekly, and monthly testing. I did the one time only test for 34.99

Just sharing, if you are not sure about your water or test kits, it is well worth the money. They sent me a box with 2 bottles to fill, then I put the 2 bottles in another box with a call tag on it. I just put it in the mail box.

How did these results compare to the results you were getting from your test kits?

I have all salifert test kits that are not out of date.

calcium 420
Alk 11dkh
nitrite 0
nitrate 50
ammonia 0
phosphate 0
copper 0
magnesium 1460

This test was done the next day after I sent out the water. I have heard alot of rumors about the nitrate salifert kit being off and it seems it is on mine. Everything else is pretty close.

Matt,
Am I right in reading that your Salifert kit showed 50ppm on the nitrate and theirs showed 1.2?

If that is the case I may send mine out too. My nitrates are high too, maybe 40-50ppm and no matter how many water changes I do it barely goes down. I am also using a new Salifert test kit.
