aquascaping for goby

Sometimes you just get lucky. My YWR goby has made his home at the front of the tank--woo hoo!! At least for now... I would appreciate anyone's experience with this fish or similar. Do they move around a lot or pick one spot and stay there? Does lighting or aquascaping en/discourage burrow location? He does not have a shrimp to partner up with. (Should this question be in the reef fish forum?)

i have had similar gobies. usually mine keep the same burrow unless i move around the rocks. mine has a couple burrows actually. usually stays in just one of them though. (very nice looking btw)

my goby tends to set up camp under most of the base rocks in the front of the tank. he likes to keep his options open in the tank i guess. it always amazes me to watch how much of the sand he actually digs out to make one of those homes

I have a Yellow Watchman Goby/Tiger Pistol pair and was lucky enough that they made a burrow right in front of the tank. The goby keeps close to the burrow except when there is food in the tank. I don't know if its behavior would be different if it wasn't paired with a shrimp.

Watching the fish/shrimp relationship is amazing I would highly recommend you get a shrimp for your goby.

Great looking goby. Some gobies will dig alot around the rocks so be careful for rockslides. Most people will put the rock right on the tank bottom and then put sand in for gobies. Just to be on the safe side. :)
