Do any of you know who is selling Aragonite nowadays? HD is not selling it anymore, and I have not found any source online either for any of the Aragonite play sand,

thoughts?

check garden supply centers.
Rainer- I think I was up in your area over the weekend. Took a hike to Tennant falls. Across 90 then up 30?

Michael,

yup, we are off of 30 - exit 27 ( Fonda ) up 30 toward Johnstown, then another 4 mile into the back woods and you are there! Too bad, could've stopped! Don't hessitate to stop next time you are in the area! Will PM you my phone# and address

I do expect to be up that way again. The hike we took was awesome- and that seems to be one of the gateways to the ADK. Can you tell this is still my first year here>>>>>>

Now all I need is someone to tell me where a good fishing hole is located.

Southdown got wise to this, and are not selling "Play Sand" anymore.

Unless you buy Caribsea, or dirrect, you are S.O.L. now for finding it cheaply.

anything my 10 year old daughter can catch in June.
Have never fly fished, but hope to some day. in my younger days in OH, it was an everyday activity for me- if I wasn't out playing golf.

Southdown is now called Yard right playsand. Our local true value had some a couple weeks ago....ill check it out this week and post.

yeah- the name has changed a bucket load of times. It's pretty easy to tell what it looks like.
Caribsea forced southdown to change the name from my understanding- as southdown is their supplier......
f'upd if you ask me; kinda like forcing all
lfs to shutdown mail/internet orders to monopolize a market.
too bad a legal person didn[t take this as a challenge.

IF They still have some I can buy it and bring it to the next meeting.....just lemme know how many ya want

If in the area check Home Depot in Crossgates Commons. Was a few months back, also I beleive Gary in Upstate Reef had seen some (also back a little)

Wow,

great how the internet and forums wrk! Thanks for all the info!

Joe, I very much appreciate your checking if they have any in stock or could get some. Steve and I can check the local market ( asuch as T-Value) though somehow I doubt they will have it. I will call if I get a chance today.

Steve,

I am certainly up for a road trip!

Zanclus: I am sure we could use the 2 bags of 50 if they are Aragonite! Eventually, we will need a lot more, but, Steve and I could split the two for now. Actually, Steve, since you are setting up a new tank you can take both for now and we work on getting more eventually.

Steve, could you pm your phone # to me?

Mike, give a call if you're in the area ( no nothing about fishing though)

Thanks everyone!

I have some REAL actual "Southdown" sand.......

It is "VINTAGE" at this point I s'pose.

so it is worth 20.00 a bag !

any takers for an addition to their reef " land locked beach-front collectables display case" ?

LOL.

I have an outlet near me that has about 150 bags of YardRite 100% Tropical playsand. It is the same as the Southdown everyone is looking for Goes for either 4.99 or 5.99 for 50lbs. (I forgot which it was.)
