First of all, let me start off by apologizing to you all, and especially to cloak, for the mad rantings last night. Personal problems. Now, moving ahead, for the first time in history, I infused my main tank with air bubbles on purpose. To my astonishment, rather than adhering to my sps, the bubbles actually seemed to aid in the removal of slimy spent zooxanthalae, and my clams also seemed to benefit from it "somehow" and also pumped slime into the water column. Good grief!, was I ever wrong about the benefits of periodic bubble infusion!:reading:

From what I have noticed, it seems to trap under large colony of SPS and causes issue by damaging the affected area. Thats why I try to remove all micro bubble.

Well in that case static bubble that stay in one place in the tank my not be good. As long as bubbles micro/mega moving everything be ok.

If bubbles are getting trapped, it is likely you don't have the best flow on a larger colony. your coral's health may be deteriorating from low flow. Also, some times lower parts of corals will die off as they grow. If you are worried, adjust your flow.. it can only help the health of the coral as long as the flesh isn't getting ripped off
Remember, corals can be out of water for hours and hours on end, and may sps are at high tide on the reefs.
