are they a good first fish and i think they're pretty cheap. my parameters are fine. are they susceptable to any illness.

Chromis are good to start with. They're inexpensive (like $3 each or so) and add nice color. Plus, they're peaceful. They're susceptible to the same illnesses as most other fish. If your cycle is over (ammonia = 0, nitrite = 0, and nitrates = <10-20), then you're safe adding chromis. They prefer to be in schools, so if you want, you can have 3 or four in your tank. Just remember that this will reduce the number of other fish you can have though. Good luck with them. :)

okay thanks my cycle is over i just want some cheap fish for now to see if they do okay. i have frozen mysis shrimp and veggie flakes. is this okay for them?

Damsels are all pretty aggressive. Chromis tend to kill each other, but leave everything else alone. Still a great fish! Stay away from the damsels, they are lil terrors!

Noooooo, no. You don't want any damsels. Evil little buggers, they are. Stick with the chromis. :)

Chromis are awesome because they swim out in the open so much and other shy fish seem to come out more when you have a couple of em.

no wonder why damsels are so cheap. I decided to get a clarks clown anyway. he' s doing okay so far and loves to eat. i hope it stays that way.
