Are clams safe with wrasses?

wrasses are a huge group.... would be real hard to generalize. Many of the reef safe wrasse are safe with clams. Ive seen tanks with harlequin tusks... I wish I wasn't such a pansy or Id try it.

May be beak-like mouth structure could be indicative for the pinching wrasses, like the cleaner wrasse has (just a wild guess)?

I found the thread, where the cleaner wrasse was pinching clam mantles repeatedly, but it was observed by somebody in a friend's tank. May be there were other experiences.

The problem with trying (in case of my wrasse) is that for catching it all LR and most of the corals should be removed - it's fast and small, will fit in any hole.

May be I place it in 10g sump behind 12g NC, still thinking about the better way.

someone needs to make a sticky for non clam safe fish.... (or something like that)...

the problem with that is as soon as someone makes a list you will get people posting in the thread that they have what ever with there clams and its not a problem. each fish has its own individual personality but heres what i see people have the most problems.

angels all sizes- except for planktivores
butterfly fish
triggers
blennies
puffers

Tangs - all ok, have never seen one bother a clam
Wrasses - any of the Cirrhilabrus, Macropharyngodon, Paracheilinus, Pseudocheilinus
Gobies - Watchman gobies ( as long as they don't bury the clam)
