Are my snails eating or getting enough food?

I have a couple of Babylonia snails and I intermittently feed them pellets but I am not sure how much I should be feeding them or how often and as a result I'm sure I end up overfeeding and causing a cyanobacteria bloom.

The problem is they rarely come out when the light is on and when I do feed them the cleaner shrimp I have does its level best to eat all the pellets, which leads to me overfeeding. I can presume they are eating something because they have yet to starve in three and a half months but what are the indicators that they're hungry or starving?

Is their snorkel being a bit bent and/or limp a sign?

How much should I be feeding them and how often?

There's nothing else in the tank I have to feed, I have a mandarin which goes after pods and a lawnmower blenny that eats my algae. I was under the impression that if I didn't supplement some food for the snails, they would go without?

With little in the tank and no daily fish food then sure.. Its not a bad idea to drop some pellets/flake food or whatever in the tank every week or so.. Just a small pinch should be plenty..
But in general snails like that usually find enough to eat..

If you have to feed your clean up crew, you probably shouldn't have one yet. I have always built my clean up crew around what is needed.
