Are spanish hogs reef safe?

Just picked up one about 2" from a LFS. Are they reef safe? I know they can develop a taste for CUC but no worries I don't have any in my system. What about sps, soft corals, etc?

He's pretty bold and not does not run off even when I have my hands in the tank.

They are generally safe with corals. Smaller fish and crustacean are the main things they'll become a threat to.

Other than bumping in to them, I don't think I've ever heard of one bothering coral. Clams, occasionally.

They can become fairly pugnacious as adults as well - hopefully you've got a big tank for him! Much like tangs and triggers in this regard - fairly peaceful as juveniles, but can become quite aggressive as adults if the tank is not very large indeed.

Currently he's getting along with his friends including a small hippo tang, a YT, lawnmower blenny, and a 6 line wrasse in a 90 G. Will toss him in my 500G if he gets nasty in the future. Never seen a fish this bold before which is absolutely cool to watch.
