Are there any fish to avoid with a NPS tank.

I am currently in the planning stages of a new tank build to start at the end of late summer, if I can buy the house I am currently renting. I am planning a 10x4x2.5 and really wanted to do NPS with a constant feeding system. Since I am planning a larger tank I would like to keep some larger fish. I was thinking a angel and a tang along with a few other mixed species of semi aggressive fish. Would NPS just become expensive snacks to these fish and would most NPS be able to be kept at 76-78 degree temps.

The system will also have a 6x1x1.5 tank linked to it with a mandarin and a clown fish pair. I would like to start the corals there and move them to the bigger tank once they are eating well and healthy.

Sounds like a great project. 78 is a little high depending on what you want to keep but they should be ok if all other factors are in place. More important is keeping the temp stable.

Personally I would go for it with a tank your size and constant feeding, I think the fish will be less inclined to go after anything, and if they do, it would probably be minimal. They will probably learn to steal food from your tubastrea, dendrophyllia and the like but again with constant feeding the corals will still get plenty of food.
