Are there any safe Zoa's

I assume all zoas carry a level of palytoxin and I understand caution and due care should be exercised when handling and fragging the zoas. My question is if someone knows if there are safer zoas out there vs others? Are there zoas that are known to have lower palytoxin and zoas that you should avoid all together?

there might be, but i have no idea how you would reliably identify them.

the other point to consider is that palytoxin is so potent, that there would never be a lesser amount that was "safe"

like many things in this hobby, it is a calculated risk. i don't keep any Z's or P's, party because of this, partly because soft corals are often a management nightmare. especially if you can't easily nuke them without worrying about accidental poisoning.

There is one palythoa that is particularly obnoxious, a sea mat sort. Sundisk or palythoa heliodiscus and its relatives are the worst, apparently, They have pale tentacles pale spots, or pale stripes. Zooanthids may share the characteristic, but few are anywhere near as bad. Wear xeam gloves, dis pose of the water you dump quickly and rinse containers. And do not let yur dog or cat sample the waste water, or gloves you've been using. Wash your own hands, and you might also wear glasses or goggles when doing work that could splash in your face. There are ample articles on the interwebs. Google palythoa toxicity or palythoa poisoning.
