Are these abalones coldwater?

Hi, I have heard that ablaones that are captive cultured can't tolerate the warm water in our aquariums. Anyone know if this guy could live in an 80 degree reef?

I would think the opposite to be true: captive bred species might actually be more adaptable to a variety of reasonable temperatures and the wild ones less so. Aquacultured animals tend to be hardier.

This is only conjecture though I've never come across anything about aquacultured abalones needing cooler water.

I bought an abalone as one of the 1st inverts in my tank nearly 10 months ago. It's quite nocturnal, but I found it the other day and it's grown by 1 inch in length. Doing quite well in a warm water tank (82 degrees).

I believe there are tropical abalones so this could be the case with this one.
