are these diatoms?

This is a new tank, has been set up about a week. I used ro/di water to fill the tank. I am only running powerheads right now, no skimmer. Is the spots on the sand diatoms? also if so I just let them run its course correct?

i'm not seeing any spots on the black sandbed. probably just some particles from sand settling on the low flow areas. the rocks are still very white. if that's diatom, there'll be some on the rocks as well.

Really? There are like three big clumps of a different color in between the two rock structures. The biggest one touching the back of the tank glass. I dont know what they are but they weren't first there when I set the tank up

Diatoms are like dust. I've never heard anyone describe them as clumpy especially in a tank one week old.

Well I guess clumps isn't the right term but I should say sections. There are some in other spots of the tank as well. The rest of the sand has white specs in it but these spots dont anymore and have a different color to it then the rest of the black sand. Maybe I am just overlooking things as this is my first tank and want to make sure everything is going okay
