Hi everyone

I was told that these were Red People Eaters Palys and I wonder if I was deceived or these are in fact RPE.

Thanks

yea those are RPE, you can tell by the green mouth on the oral disk also when the polyps are closed you can see stripes going from the top down. all people eaters have those to characteristics.

They are definitely RPE's. Yours seem to be a little bit more crimson than most, which I think I like better than the brighter red that mine are.

Those are not just RPE, but a very nicely colored one. The RPE sometimes gets two different classification with "True" RPEs being those that have a red ring around the mouth, like yours.

hmm, I have been told by many people that these are RPE. The pics that I have found on the internet from vendors look identical to mine. Do you have any pics of the true RPE?

Anybody else?

they arent palys, but yours are not only rpe's but one of the nicest types available. there is another I have seen just as red without the oral disc

there are at LEAST 4 clearly different zoanthids around that IMO can be accurately described as rpes.

slowly get them to accept super high light and they can turn into this. Im not saying they are any prettier necessarily, but you could then call them OPE's and rape and pillage people all the way to the bank...if your into that sort of thing

ps- i think you misunderstood ficklefins. he wasnt saying yours werent.....he was saying the same thing as i was. the word "true" aside....that yours are one of the nicest types around

They are actually right under the metal halides. These guys grow very fast. In less than 2 months they went from 7 polyps to over 20 polyps :celeb3:
