might be. the greens ones beside them are reaching so they might fade under more light. Note the greenish center in your pic. alot of light does a lot of color changing

what? the green ones next to them seem to be reaching, yes... all my palys seem to do that, i have them under 2 175 watt halides and 110 watt's PC.... they cant want more, can they?

How deep are they?
What colour temp are the bulbs?
For instance 20k 175 watt bulbs don't put out much par.

xm 20K.... i'd hate to brighten it up any more, plus i have clam equal level away who's a year old now... doesnt over extend his mantle at all.

I am not seeing the green mouth in yours. But that may just be the pic. You are not going to get deep petetration with 20K bulbs, especially if its a deep tank. They are reaching it looks like to me also. (green ones) and others.

clams and zoas dont give the same reaction to lighting.

if clams dont get enough light they will reach towards the light, so the mantle is basically pointing upwards or out to the side... it wont have that relaxed look that you usually see when a clam is open, so it is really very similar reaction to low light and wanting more...

Its the 20k bulb. My friends did that after his 20k was about 8-9 months old. When he replaced it they shrunk back down.

it's a new bulb... hmmm, i really dont want to go to 250's... hopefully this extra 110 of PC will help out.

i may change to 14K on both sides or run my lights equally (i run one side longer then the other).
