Are they paired?

Greetings.

I have a couple of occelaris clown fish but I am not sure if they are paired. They hang around within 2-3 inches of each other a majority of the time but do venture apart occasionally.

So are they paired or just good friends? I've read others with paired clown fish that don't venture more than two inches from each other ever. I don't know if this is something they do when they are more likely to breed, or an indication that they are really paired.

Thanks!

They've been together for at least 10 months.

Keep in mind; they are in my 700g tank, so there is lots of room for them to roam around. I was thinking maybe that's why they tend to explore occasionally on their own. In a small tank they wouldn't have that option...

Sounds like they are paired. Mine venture around on their own a lot. The male is more likely to stay "at home".

Thanks guys. I was hoping that was the case but I wasn't positive. Now I need to get my 700g filled in with more corals so they can find a spot to hang out and call home.

Later!
