Very nice guys! Collin, I assume you have a cover of some sort on that tank. :)

Mike - what are your equipment plans for the big tank?

Here's mine. One wide shot then 3 closer in to get some color balance right.

I have the vast majority of the equipment already. You caught a peek at my sump in the basement that's been running with the rock from Alan's tank (huge props to Alan!!). That stuff is all colored up and picked clean from the purple tang and 6-line wrasse I've had in there for a few months. The other stuff will be:

Skimmer: My Reef Creations MR-2R Beckett skimmer (I'm not 100% on this one due to a few drawbacks like the added heat & electricity of the recirculating pump as well as the challenge of keeping it clean/efficient. Need to figure out if I can supply this via one of the overflow drains. Anyone know if this might work?)
Return Pump: ReeFlo Barracuda/Hammerhead with manifold next to sump (in case I add carbon/GFO reactors later) and a pair of WavySea wavemakers on the return ends.
Supplements: MTC Procal calcium reactor (probably will stick with dosing pumps and 2-part for starters until the system gets going in earnest though)
Lighting: DIY LED/T5 (I got an awesome deal on a pair of Radion Gen3 Pro's a few weeks back and I'm looking to run some configuration of T5 retrofits alongside them. Possible I'll need additional LED coverage along the center but we'll see. Open to suggestions.)
Nutrient Export: Scrubber possibly. Macro algae definitely. I have frag tank running alongside the sump that could be perfect for this application. GFO will be possible via return manifold.
Display Flow: I have a pair of MP60s but would like to try Tunze's out.
ATO: Tunze
Auto w/c: Reef Filler pump (I can finally put this thing to use!!!)

I'm going to be buying a pair of Ace Roto Mold water tanks from http://www.ruralking.com/ (seem like the best overall deal on unit cost and freight). Let me know if there's interest out there for more of these and I can see if we can get a better deal on freight.

Phew. Comments most appreciated!!!

I'll also need a bunch of advice on how to best go about opening up the ceiling in my finished basement to support this beast.

Dude where's my filter socks? LOL (honestly, I'm not even sure I'll use them on the new tank!)

Hey, is that my red monti I spy there?? I miss that bugger! Tank looks great!!

The socks are safe....still! I am not sure what the link was for the water tanks but I have been using some industrial 55 gallon food drums I got a while back from a guy up by the Gaylord Hospital. They're old drums used to ship balsamic vinegar from Europe. Clean em out and they work great especially when you bulkhead them together. I have 110 gallons of RODI and 110 gallons of salt always on hand. Best part is they were 20 bucks each.

I'd love to be able to go the less expensive route like that but not sure I have the space for 4 tanks + plumbing hookups, etc. I want to have a similar amount on hand (100G RODI and 100G salt) since I'll have over 300G total system volume. Still have time to plan this part out though.

Well here is what I have. The 2 that are stacked are my RODI in the fish room and I have valves to feed one into the other. Then a line goes to my basement where I keep the salt mix. You can see that on the next shot. I have it unisealed together and there are pumps in there to mix twice a day controlled from the apex. I also have a heater in there that heats up the water before I do water change on the weekend. The water temp runs in the high 50s these days! I then pump the salt back up for changes that I do once a week. I need to get Joe's relay switch to automate changes nightly...
