The first ones are not ARMS the are safecrackers. You do u ask what they are worth. I think they are worth whatever you paid for them. If it was a trade, ask the person that you got them from how much they usually charge per polyp.

When I started selling goochsters( I didn't name them) they were selling for about $1-$2 a polyp(3 plus years ago). I know others have gotten up to $10/polyp for them early on but now have come down to between $3-$5 a polyp and if you look around you can find them for way less than that now. They are hardy proven growers with a good track record.

My brother-in laws last name is Gooch I wonder if he is related to the person who named them? He has a 120 in Columbus OH.

No, JCigars named them goochsters. He got a bunch of frags from me in a trade awhile back and called them goochsters. He asked if it was OK to put them on ZOAID. I didn't care so he did.

I actually got the mother colony 3-4 years ago from Marine Specialties International or SeaCrop(the retail store). I know there are some other polyps out there that look very similar to the goochsters that actually command a higher price. I originally sold 4 or 5 pieces of the original mother colony shortly after I got it. There were a couple different polyps on the mother. So for anyone trying to trace lineage. If it can be traced back to Gooch's Corals(now closed over two years) those are the goochsters. There was a hobbyist in my area that sold a bunch of frags on e-bay a few years back. I think her handle was reefgirl or something like that on e-bay. Those were goochsters before they got named. I know one store name them armaggedons but I am not sure if those were the same as the original polyp named armaggedon. But I wouldn't be suprised. Only reason I know for sure they were the same as my polyps is because I shipped them for her.

JCigars didn't think so. Thats why he started calling them goochsters. He told me the goochsters were brighter than the armaggedons but I am not sure. I don't really care about the name. It is my favorite colony of all time and was one of the nicest corals I ever imported.

Sorry for the book. Just wanted to give you a little history on them. I know a very large coral operation was looking at obtaining a colony of them for propagation. I hope they found some.

Thanks rev. Then it must of been armor of god or one of them that looks similar. I couldn't remember the name as I am so out of the loop it is not even funny. Somebody here probably has both and could help out with some comparison pics.

I do not know why armageddons was stuck in my head. I really love the pic of yours.

These are goochsters under two different types of lighting. It was the armors that were similar. I would try to get a close up but my camera sucks now and doesn't take good pics anymore.
