can i ask why you or anyone would buy one polyp? or why someone would sell one polyp?
I obtained a frag about 2 weeks ago with about 5-6 polyps and they have deteriorated to 2 and still havent opened. What if you get the one polyp home and it doesn't make it? that would seem a waste of $10-15 and a polyp, unless you can get a guarantee from where you are getting the frag. Things have definitely changed from 3 years ago when i took a break from this hobby.
why are people so stingy that they have to sell by the polyp instead of offering healthy multiple frags for resonable prices?
just trying to start some stimulating conversation and trying to figure out the new trends. maybe just venting too.

I sell AoGs quite often, and don't sell per polyp.

For intance, as the Nashville frag swap a few weeks ago, I sold $250 dollars worth of AoGs. They were priced from 15-25 dollars, which ranged from 4 polyps to at least 10. I just looked at the frag and determined a price, instead of counting polyps.

Many people walked away with about 10 polyps for 20 bucks.

Once I frag out again (soon), I'll sell them for the same prices. Not only does it make me some cash, but it helps out other reefers who want AoGs. (Even though I paid $20/polyp when I bought 5 to start out with)

AWESOME!!!

Now you can share them with fellow reefers at well under $2 per polyp. At the rate you are going you could do a 10 healthy polyp frag for around $17. Thanks for your information and almost all on this forum are open to trades as well. Great price on those pink polyps! They went from $20 to a little over $1 in 3 months! Awesome!

Through trading and propagation, it seems AoGs are becoming more available, so through general supply/demand, the price should be cheaper. 15 seems high to me too. I sell for 5 or less.

Also I think it depends on the colony you start with. Sometimes it is easier to get just one off and not risk your "mother" colony. Plus I think that the younger polyps are more easily adapted to a new environment. Just my .02

Dang, I should have charged you $45 then Glad they look great. I hope to have MANY rare frags at the frag swap next year, as I've bought at least 10-15 different variations lately, such as Candy Apple Reds, Jokers, Rainbows, and a bunch from ultimatefrags.com.

I'm a trader myself I'd rather get something new for my tank and allow someone else to do the same everybody always ends up happy that way imo

I bought some locally. They sell for $10-$15 for a small frag. All the frags I have seen have at least 6-10 polyps. I refuse to pay the high prices that some people want.
