Artest/Stojakovic Trade Discussion

Unarce

Unshackled
So far, Kings are 11-7 with Artest. Pacers are 9-5 with Peja.

Doesn't seem like much of a difference, but the Kings roster is more talented on paper at the moment, considering that Peja hasn't even played a game with Jermaine O'Neal in the lineup.

Is it still a bench/depth issue? Thoughts?

The kings were playing horribly earlier this season while with Peja. There was always talent on the team. I think it was chemistry and mindset. This team plays tougher now with Artest. Peja wasn't much of a defender and only provided one dimension... some offense-which was mainly in the form of 3 pters. The kings playing at this rate could take a playoff spot. Prior to Artest coming over, this wasn't even a possibility. better hope Artest keeps his head in the game though. If you look at Peja's numbers, they're better now after the trade.

Go warriors!!! Sorry... I'm from SF. :)

Yeah, the Warriors have their own set of problems. Montgomery has to go and what is up with Dunleavy. With all the injuries they've had, you'd think he'd grab opportunity by the throat.

I have to agree with FunGuy, Peja's game is somewhat one dimensional, jump shooting. When your game is one dimensional you become easier to defend. I think Paja was trying to become a better driver and ball handler but just wasnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t there yet. I was worried (and still am) that Ron could be more of an unsettling influence to the team but so far I have been impressed with his play. I just hope that when he gets some negative press (which is bound to happen sooner or later, look what happened to Chris) that he can handle it.

I am also optomistic with Artest. Finally an interesting player on the team that has potential to LEAD. He also has the talent/power to drive the lane. Something the kings have been weak in even since the good old days.

LOL, wouldn't you be if you were a pacers fan? They tried to stand by him and he betrayed all of them and larry. I respect how well he plays still :)

artest did his previous team dirty. those players that stuck up for him still have to do community service, anger management, go to court and other misc crap in detroit bc of their loyalty to him.

Good point, guys!

It was nice to see Peja have a good game. I'd like to see him opt out for free agency, than re-sign with the Kings:D

I have mixed feelings over the whole artest thing. He definitely should not have attacked the fans. At the same time, the fans shold not have attacked him first. Basically, dude lost his temper after being hit with objects and now the aflicted fans are rich.
