ASM 4plus or ASM5?

I am setting up a 350 gal system and only have about 36 in under my tank in the stand and am wondering if the G 4X skimmer is really rated up to 450 or 400 gallons? i want a really good skimmer for under 500 and have been offered a G5 that says its rated for 700 gals for 400 bux. but the G5 is 36 in tall already and will barely fit in my stand. How much room is needed to remove the collection cup? or could i just use a drain line and not have to actually remove the collection cup? i am going to have a heavily loaded 350 gal system and want to be able to keep some softie corals and some hardy sps, so i need a really good skimmer. please help!

Take all ASM skimmer size recommendations and divide by 2, so if it says it is good for 400 gallons, it is actually good for around 200 gallons (I would say medium to heavy load). A meshmod will increase the efficiency considerably.
I would look at the aquaeruousa classic 400 reefnut.com it appears to be an excellent and cheap skimmer!

yeah i read that thread. but not sure if it will handle a 350 gal system load well.
