ASM G-3 on a 120g?

Would a ASM G-3 be adequate for a 120g DSB SPS tank? For a BB system, I would probably need something bigger, maybe an ASM G-4+

I have an ASM G3 on my 120G with a 50G sump. THe G3 is great no issues. Ihave Spfties, LPS,and Sps with heavy fishload and it skims great. Only thing is its a copy of a euroreef and its made with cheaper acrylic. It can't be man handled or it will crack on you. Only negative is the acrylic its made of. I had an ER b4 this ASM G3 and they work the same. ER is just made with thicker acrylic.

Have an asm G3 on my 150, at first i hated it, set it up appropriately in a seperate compartment that is stable and is first section in the sump, barely able to squeeze it in.. put the pump with the output directly into the skimmer, not using the ell, put a 3.5 inch couple with a 3.5" septic tee from home depot. Low and behold with 3 small fish, it will give plenty of crud. Sand is starting to look cleaner. also in that improved circulation in the tank so that you can see food just swirls around, it never has a chance to settle down to the sand. Fish have to catch it in the water column.
Went from most i could get was about 1/8" of skimmate day and foam only getting over the riser not turning pass the lid back into cup, put in like the above now, it fills the cup half full of foam.
G3 can work, but I almost ran out of patience with mine. I thought it was setup stable with being in a seperate been in the sump, but never did get it going like that.

Alright, sounds like the G3. I currently have a G1X, but its going to be a bit too small for my 120g.

I may go with the G4+ if I can find one cheap/used.... that way I can yank out the DSB later, but we'll see.

The G4+ just came out last month so I doubt you will find one used. The G4 and the G4x have been aound however.

In that case, I meant the G4x :o
