ASM G-3 Problem

Hi -

Ive got an two month old G-3 with a small problem. In the past I had a euroreef 6-2+, which has an identical pump to the G-3, and the venturi was nearly silent.

This G-3 venturi one makes a loud (significantly louder then the pump noise) gurgling sound that comes and goes. By itself its not a big issue but the skimmer body is only 1/2 full of bubbles and I think the two are realated somehow.

Ive disassembled the pump and cleaned it twice, to no effect. The venturi is unblocked and I cant figure out why it would be doing this.

Anyone have a similar issue?

Not this issue, but make sure that the venturi airline is completely clear also the connections at the venturi and the pump. I have a G4+ and it rocks with bubbles.

agree with coralfish, sounds like their is a blockage in the venturi somewhere, crud tends to accumulate where the airline attaches to the pump. This happened with my Euroreef. Once I cleaned the blockage everything went back to normal.
