ASM G1x Protein Skimmer

How deep should the water be in the sump area that would contain this skimmer? The skimmer is 22.5 inchs tall and I only have 25.5 inchs from the bottom of the sump to the bottom of the display

If I'm not mistaken, 8-10" is recommended for the ASM G1X's

I run my ASM G-1X in like 10" of water. Works fine and can skim wet or dry.

is 10" the norm. for everyone because I must know before I build my sump because I would not have much room for adjusting?

I have 6" of water in my sump. I believe that 6-8" is what ASM states are best for a stable operation.

Your skimmer section can be deeper--Just elevate the skimmer if you have to.


Mine is running in approx 6 1/2" to 7" of water and seems to be fine.
