You can also save yourself a couple bucks and eliminate the gate valve. It works the same, you just have to pull the pipe up or down to adjust. Since it is out of the water, you stay dry, which is what the gate valve mod is for in the first place.

Can the gate valve mod be bought at Home Depot? It looks like the handle I turn on my outside hose with.

I could not find the Gate Valve at Home Depot. Might have them at Lowes or other similar store.

I should clarify...you only eliminate the gate valve. The other PVC is still used. It looks just like the photo that zanclus posted, but without the valve. The valve is not needed if you cannot find it.
