I just got my G2 yesterday. I set it up and fired it up to see if everything worked. It seemsto me that the pump is not working correctly. THe only things in the tank are sand and water so obviously there is nothing to be skimmed. It seems to me though the pump should still be filling up the bottom part of the skimmer with bubbles. Is this correct. The pump is barely putting any bubbles into the skimmer> Does it sound like the pump os not working correctly? The pump is a sedra 3500. Please let me know what you guys think.

Mine does the same thing. Look into a meshwheel mod or recirculating mods. I've done the meshwheel and it helped a lot. Anything below where the water comes into the main body has pretty much no bubbles. For the most part though its done a fairly good job skimming for me but i've never had a big bioload.

if you place your finger over the silicone tube, can you feel some suction? If there is no suction, either the tube is plugged or the port in the pump is.

If its working correctly, the body of the skimmer should be full of fine bubbles making it milky looking. You probably wont get any skimmate until the skimmer breaks in, but it should still be creating fine bubbles.
