asm g3 skimmer

would the g3 skimmer be good for a 90g and what pump would you use for it?

Mine came with the sedra 5000 pump and i've been happy with it.

Mine is on a 180g with a decent bioload and i feed heavy so it should be MORE than enough for a 90g. You could probably get away with a g2 but if you have the room and the money, the g3 should handle anything you would have in a 90g

Thats what I'm using on my 90 gallon. And it works really well.

i heard they have had problems with micro bubbles have you had any problem.

I haven't ever had any problems with microbubbles with mine.

so you think a g2 would be enough for a 90, with 29g sump/fuge

I have a 90G with that ASMG3 and same pump and are very happy...no micro bubble issues.

I have a G2 for my 120g with 45g fuge. Works fine so far. If you have the room I would go with the G3 (I didnt have room for a G3 with my sump design). No problem with Microbubbles as long as the water height is sufficient in my return zone.

I have no problems with my micro bubbles, and I keep the G3's water level very high (13 inches), it works great. I'd go with the G3 if you can.

I ran an ASM g3 recirc on my old 90g, in fact I still have it, a friend is using it on his 90g system, and is still feeding it from the overflow as I did. It works just fine. It is JMO but when looking for a skimmer, if it claim it will skim up to 100 gallons, I'd get the one that claims it would do 200 gallons. I've found they are good at under-rating there product when it comes to skimmers. again that's JMO.

yeah the g2 is rated for 200g and for the price im getting it for ($50 and a couple softie frags) it should be great. it will be a nice upgrade from my pro clear aquatics 150.

IMO the G2 would be good for a 90g. i have a mesh,and gate valve on my G2 on a 135 and it keeps up as long as i keep my bioload low.
