I have an ASM G5 skimmer for sale. It has been modified to be a recirculating skimmer. It has been running well for 2 years. Feed pump not included, and a new uniseal is needed for the feed. It has an 8" body, twist neck, dual recirc Sedra needlewheel pumps, and is 36" tall.

$250 takes it.

It is the skimmer on the left with all of the skimmate. It was run on a 270 gallon system.

Man ill bet it hurts looking at that pic with the treated plywood....

No kidding. I think back on that all the time. What's worse is I probably could have gotten away with it if not for the fact that the Octo skimmer came with a defective elbow. If that hadn't leaked so many times, I might have been ok. I guess I should have just stayed with the ASM G5 and never tried to upgrade. The G5 handled the tank with no problem, and was very consistent.

Hey there, interested in that skimmer, can you email me details or what all I would need to get it back to running order? Please email me at Jamie.Wilson@mcleodusa.com.

Also would it be possible to ship this?

Thanks,
Jamie

The only thing the skimmer needs is a uniseal for the input. I think it is a 1" uniseal. I can even ship you the uniseal that I used on it that has started to leak (the leak is very slow, but should still be fixed) You should be able to get one for less than $10. The uniseal just slips into place. You don't need to glue it or anything. Then you can feed the skimmer from your overflow, or with any pump between 150 and 500 gph.

I would prefer to not ship the skimmer because of the chance of something happening during shipping. It might be possible to have a club member take it with them when going east.
