ASM gate&Recirc can I make this?

Hey you guys... I will be getting an ASM g4x probably and I want to know if I could go to lowes and make this myself?

has anyone done this before???


also, is this kit for the Gate and Recirc? or just the gate?

I have heard of this MOD on these skimmers but would just like to know more about them!

Gate valves are very difficult to find locally. You can probably find them cheaper online. Uniseals are available online too.

What Brians_224 said! You'll find plenty of ball valves locally, but don't be tempted. They don't allow the fine adjustment that a gate valve does.

The rest of the "kit" is just cut up pieces of PVC. I ordered a gate valve from McMaster.com, bought the PVC locally, and saved about 12 bucks over the kit price.

The recirc mod is a different story in that it involves cutting a hole in your skimmer body. If you are comfortable doing that, I'm sure it's not too tough.

Yeah... not to comforatble cutting a near 400dollar peice of equipment! haha


Does the regirc mod really make that much of a difference on a ASM g4x???
