asm recirc mod

I have an ASM mini G and i am considering doing the recirc mod. Has anyone done this? and if so is it worth it, does it improve performance. I plan on piping my overflow from the display right into the skimmer.

my biggest worry is that having the overflow from the display drain right into the skimmer is going to back up the overflow. Am I worrying about nothing?

That is absolutely something to be worried about. I wouldn't feed a skimmer that way.

yeah i saw people do it online, but it doesn't sit right with me. thanks for backing up my concern

tee it off before entering the skimmer, a overflow handles 6-700gph, the ASM skimmer shouldn't be fed more than 2-300gph.

i feed my asn g4 skimmer that way i have np with it u just got to set the water lower thats all ( by the way i'm only doing this to not use filter sock)
