ASM skimmers

I am planning on using a ASM G1 skimmer for my 55 gal. I can't seem to find any reviews on them and was hoping some people could share their experiences with this brand of skimmers. My LFS says that they are great and that is what they use, but I am looking for some second opinions.

I would go with the euro reef, but I only have 21 in. between the bottom of the sump and bottom of the tank, so the ASM G1 fits with about 2 inches to spare, but thanks for the recomendation.

You might also want to try the octopus skimmer. They are less pricy and I think work just as good. I am running a needle wheel 110 on my 75G and also its a small skimmer.

I have an ASM G3 on my 125 and I love it. However, I would try an Octopus first. It is in the same price range as ASM and look a little better made.

Here's the G3 during the first week:

I agree, I just got an ASM G3 for my 120 and couldn't be happier.

I modded it with the recirc and gate valve. I agree their not as well made as the EuroReefs but for the price and performance you can't beat it!

Thanks for the help. I can get the ASM at my lfs and I go there A LOT so they usually give me good deals on stuff. I think I will get the G1. I think that should be enough for a 55 gal, right?

thanks for the link. My problem is not so much money as it is space. I would gladly drop the money on a larger unit if there was room under my stand.
