Asterina star good or bad?

I just noticed an Asterina star in my tank and I have seen that there's a lot of opinions surrounding them. Should I eradicate them? or should I let them thrive. Just a 5 gal with 2 red tip hermits and an orange spotted goby (im moving him to my 40 gal soon)


I have no coral right now and don't plan to in my 5 gal and as I understand they are just gonna eat my algae but I don't want a tank to just get overwealmed by these little critters

I would keep it. After I got the Shrimp to take care of it, I now have algae everywhere. Nvr had that problem before. Plus now I have to buy the shrimp food to eat.arrggg !

Unless you have Zoas and sps I'd keep it

I just got a Nuclear Mushroom, but I have red tip hermits so they take care of the algae. Ill watch to see if they will try to touch the mushy

You could get a linckia to keep from getting out of hand.

linkias are fairly hard to care for I believe
