I haven't noticed any mess from him. I got him at Tropical Exotics. He had two when I got mine, may still have the other.

i wanted 2 and i was told that they only tolerate eachother if theyre paired up

they are usually found in pairs.

Why would we want to rid our tanks of these guys? I have never seen these stars do any damage, i thought they were good? and natural for a reef tank??

I have seen them walk accross my Monti cap and leave a "dead spot" where it traversed.

I need to see a picture, I have seen them "walk" also and it is painfully slow. Maybe I am thinking of a different star here, I have seen them mentioned in the Reef Aquarium books and I dont recall anything negative being said about them.
