At what rate do bacteria uptake Carbon when dosing?

Hey y'all

I am just a little curious as to whether anyone has the answer (or wants to discuss) as to just at what rate bacteria (broad, I know) in our reefs uptake the carbon source that we are dosing? I have asked this question before a couple years back on another forum but didn't really get any solid answers.

I have noticed that whilst Carbon Dosing, I will get some bacterial growth around my tank and depending on where I dose, the bacteria population occupies different areas of the tank. For example, if I dose into my overflow I will get significant growth in my overflow and in my return line, so much so that my return line got blocked almost completely with funky stuff. If I dose directly into the DT, my glass turns hazy (white). etc...

I am really just wanting to know if these observations are just a coincidence, or if bacteria is able to uptake the carbon at such a fast rate?

Thanks.
