ATB 840 pump replacement/ needled wheel

My Psk 2500 died and I'm currently replacing it with the PSK 1000. I have a red needle wheel and a purple needle wheel from the 2500, I was using the purple. If the needled wheels are interchangeable should I change or use the gray needled wheel that is on the PSK 1000?

Thanks Nook. I did some researching and found out the needle wheels are not interchangeable.

I also found out that I needed to raise the skimmer or lower the water level. I currently have the skimmer running in 6 inches of water
