Hello everyone,

I am upgrading my light to an 8 bulbs Sunpower for my 120 gallons SPS tank.
Anyway, what do you guys think of this combination?

Too blue or too white? I am looking for around 12-14K look.

Thanks

There is a thread in the equipment forum on here with lots of info for bulb combos. I actually just ordered a new 8 bulb ATI fixture last night and went with 4 B+ 3 C+ and 1 AB.

Anyone used 4 B+ and 4 C+?
BigE uses it on his tank and got really good color but other than him, I don't see anyone use it.
If anyone has used this combo before, please share your thoughts

I use BigE's 4 B+ 4 C+ and I love it. Gives even color temp front to back and doesn't wash out any colors like to many blue plus can

I have tried Big E combo for fun and to me i like more blue and it looked more on the bright/white side. ABS seems to wash out colors and make the tank very bright & white so i wouldn't go with more than one.

also ATI recommend this for a 12k-16k look:
8-Bulb combination
4 ATI Blue Plus
3 ATI Coral Plus
1 ATI Purple Plus

you can find more info on their site http://www.atinorthamerica.com/faq.php

I had:

4 B+
1 P+
3 C+

Now is use:

5 B+
1 P+
2 C+

Not a tremendous difference but I needed a bit more blue. The ABS is prob my least favorite bulb and never use it.

Since you have the 8 bulbs I'd suggest you try a couple of Actinic bulbs. Never used them myself until my last bulb change a few months ago. Really add some pop to the coral colors. I highly recommend them.

I went with the Giessemann super actinic but ATI makes a nice actinic too.

I would love to see an example of 3 blue+, 3 coral+, and 2 true actinic. If I start running t5ho again one day this is the first combo I'm going for
