ati dimable t-5 questions

looking at a new 6x54 t-5 fixture.i have heard the dimables have issues with lamp life or ballast life . is there any proof of these issues either way. should I just get the standard one? I like the built in timer feature

i've heard both of those things too but in the year i dimmed my bulbs i never had any issues with reduced life expectancy or faulty ballasts.
ati mentions bulb life is also associated with a proper burn in as well.
