ATI "power save mode"

Just got a brand new ATI fixture (its so sexy)..
Plugged it in and ran the self test... all perfect..

Unplugged it to hang it for the burn-in and plugged it in and "display is on but just showing boxes"..

Manual says to unplug for 60 seconds.. Or 24 hours if that doesn't work..
Of course 60 seconds didn't do it so here I sit with a brand new fixture that I can't even plug in for 24 hours..

Whats up with that?
Well yes ATI.. Having to unplug my brand new fixture for 24 hours surely is "saving power".. but why would you do that.. What kind of cover up is this "mode" as you call it..
:headwally:

Anyone else had this happen and know "why/what/how" about it thats not in the manual?

ok.. gave it 20 minutes while I ate dinner then tried it again.. and voila.. back to normal..
goofy.. but glad its back on...
Time to burn in some bulbs!!!
I'm happy again..

overall.. looks like an amazing fixture and I can't wait to get it over my tank (after burn in so I don't have to run it 100% over the tank yet)..

My "minor" complaints so far are
#1-goofy power save mode (cough..excuse for some flaw I'm sure. it just makes no sense to be a "feature")
#2-the "fan guards" don't guard a thing and they cut them with their logo and its just a sliver of material there holding the logo that is EASILY deflected into the fans causing them to not run.. I sneezed and the guard deflected.. easy fix though..

But other than that.. I'm super excited about it..
