ATI Tripping breaker

Hey everyone,

Every time I plug my ATI Powermodule into the socket it trips the breaker. The plug with the turns on the two bulbs is fine, but when I try to plug in the outlet for the other 8 bulbs it immediately trips the breaker.

I have tried it on another of outlets with the same outcome.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What all else is on that circuit? There could be something wrong with the fixture, like Steve mentioned, or could just be too much on that circuit.

I would try to unplug/too off every thing on that circuit and plugging it back in and seeing what happens.

I tried plugging it into it's own 20amp line and it still does trips the breaker.

Would a bad ballast cause the breaker to trip? wouldn't the lights the ballast power just not turn on?

I opened up the sides of the fixture and it turns out one of the wires was pinched a little bit.

Works now.

Thanks guys.

Is there bare copper showing where the "pinch" was? Is there any black smut looking stuff like burn marks? Unplug and inspect the wire again. If you see any damage at all to the outer wire insulation, wrap it good with #33 electrical tape (very cheap at Home Depot, Lowes, etc...).
