Hi. I live on the atlantic coast of florida, cocoa beach area.

Does anyone know about atlantic coast areas to groom for wildlife/sand/snails/rock?

Thanks

I live just down the road from you. :)

You can go to the Florida Fish and Wildlife website, and get the exact rules.. it pretty much goes like this:

You can't take any rocks or sand, and most corals are a no no. You can take any wildlife that is within the normal bag limits. (size and such)

They do allow for special permits and such if you really want to go to the trouble.

Water is ok to take, but be careful where and when you take it, just because you don't want any polution, and occasionally we get red tide, and you definitely don't want that.

TBH, do a google search for Florida Fish and Wildlife. The rules are pretty clear on there.

Take a ride to Titusville, cross the Max Brewer bridge at low tide and park on the right side before you get to the wildlive refruge santuary. There you'll find thousands of little Nassarius type of snails with a mix of little hermit crabs. Every once in a while you'll find a Horseshoe crab 1" to 2". Your allowed to take up to 1 gallon of plants that are growing if you want them. I think you'll need a salt water fishing licence, that you can buy on line. I've picked up some other larger snails there also but didn't know what kind they were so I put them in the refugium. Everything ok so far after 8 months. ( check out the other side too if you go there)

Here is one of them, not sure what kind he is.

According to the Audubon guide to shells, I'd say its a Florida Banded Tulip. The book doesn't really say much about them though. I've been toying with the idea of collecting things locally as well. Need to go get me a license!

I picked these up on one of the cross over bridge in Melbourne. They were only seed pods 8 month ago. ( Indian river lagoon)
