This may be redundant to some, but I went to Atlantis Aquarium in Fremont on Saturday and that place is way cool.

Why I want Atlantis Aquarium in Sacramento:

1 SPS, SPS, SPS you want it they got it.

2. Prices were listed on the tanks, no asking for indeterment pricing based on who you ask.

3. Customer service. Very impressive, the guy who was helping us was very knowedgable, very courtesous and did not try to push you towards one direction or the other. He explained the pros and cons, and very attentive. In fact, he was able to entertain all of our questions and happened to do this while in the middle of an Alkalinity titration, and was holding the KH solution the whole time. I thought it was very cool to be that attentive while obviously busy.

I was very glad that I went there on Saturday and not today on my way home, because I would have spent WAY too much money there.

Had to help a guy move TWO tanks from SF to San Mateo....Man, did that suck!!

That was probably Ming the owner. I was just down there a few weeks ago and I was blown away by their selction as well. Ming, Joleen, Eddie, the entire crew is a pleasure to deal with.

He did mention some others MARS people had been in there recently when I said I was from Sacramento.

Did yah see all those CV Dinar Balinesse deepwater:eek1: Did I mention I dropped a few bills there just the other day

I didn't look around much, I was on a mission and had a Drs appt in the City. Almost bought the 8" striped mantis...but man I don't need a third species tank. Might have made a nice lunch though.

Eric and I were down there a couple of weeks ago, and spent a couple of hours drooling over everything. Unfortunitly we didn't get to meet Ming or Joleen.....maybe at the Farmers market...I was hopeing they might get a booth for the WMC also, but it doesn't look like it.

One thing you can count on is Atlantis is second to none when it comes to selection of sought after corals. Most of the frags come from the display tank, which is a double bonus since they are accustomed to the captive environment and you can actually own a piece of the corals on display (one of my biggest annoyances with fish stores is the NFS status of all the nice stuff). Ming's display tank is my favorite of any fish store I've been to, well maybe except Tong's in Huntington Beach but that's a long way south ;)

Ah... I forget the name of the street it's right off the 405... I think Warner Ave. It may not actually be in HB but real close.

I went last saturday too! *** everyone was there =)

i saw that 8" mantis. I almost crapped my pants. I've never seen a mantis that huge before. I really didn't do any research on them before, and thought they were tiny little guys. WOW they are scarey.

They had a neat pink one with some purple tail tips, looked cool... probably would crawl out of the tank and kills something though.

The owner I guess was really nice, the store was so small yet full of stuff. The display tank is absolutely amazing. He had some animals you don't see regularily, like some dark blue pipefish, mantis shrimp, etc.

It's so convenient off the highway too, I'm definately going again when I head that way.
