ATO and water change designs

I need some links to good auto top off and water change threads.

I have a sink, a floor drain, and lots of space that I can dedicate to the system. I want a water change and salt mixing system that only involves manually adding salt and turning a bunch of valves to get the tank drained then filled.

I remember systems with 55 gallon drums stacked on top of each other but can't remember anything else.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are some pics on there. The only thing I haven't done is add a permenant line to fill the tank. I have 2 ball valves on the pump outlet, 1 back to the mixing bucket and the other opens to a barb outlet right now. So I still have to hook a hose to it and put the other end in the sump. I plan to run a pvc pipe up and over to it but that will be after I get the tanks swapped out. I'm more eager to get the tank in.

In short, heres what I'm hooking up.
1 55 drum with a ro/di float switch to fill with ro/di. 1 55 for kalk. 1 55 for salt mix. The ro/di and salt both have bulkheads on the bottoms and lead to the intake of the pump. 2 ball valves let me choose which drum is being drawn from. Then the outlet of the pump will have 3 choices. 1 to fill the kalk, 1 to the salt mix, and 1 to the tank. Then under normal use it will just recirculate the salt mix. When I shut down the return to the salt mix and open the tank valve, it will do the water change. Since the ro/di is always full via the float valve, I just switch around the ball valves and either refill the kalk or refill the salt mix drums. I'm 2/3 of the way done.

If that made no sense you're welcome to come over and check it out, maybe that would help. Sat. morning we'll be moving the 180 over into place and that would be a great time to come see it. :D

Ive almost finish mine. I went with this kind of Ro/di storage unit. I used a 55g drum and a 3g drum.
